
The war in Ukraine has put enlargement back on the European agenda. The Centre Grande Europe is dedicated to analysing this process, with a particular focus on the countries of the Western Balkans. Since its launch in November 2022, thanks to the support of the Open Society Foundation, this centre of the Jacques Delors Institute:
Convinced that enlargement is inherent to the project of a united Europe and responds to a geopolitical imperative, the Centre advocates gradual accession to the European Union and a process that involves all stakeholders at an early stage.
Three citizens' consultations on EU enlargement and its effects will take place in France, in conjunction with similar initiatives in the Western Balkans.
